Sensei Christopher Feldt

Mr. Feldt, is the owner of Samurai Karate Studio and is a certified black belt who has been training in the martial arts for nearly 10 years. Karate truly has been a life changing experience for him!

"I opened my school, so that I could make a difference in the lives of children and adults and share my passion of the martial art's," comments Feldt, "Participating in the martial art's can be a "life changing" experience for many students and my goal is to help as many children and adults as possible achieve success in and out of the dojo!" 
 
University of South Carolina

In addition to the students he teaches at Samurai Karate Studio, Sensei Feldt is also a Professor for the University of South Carolina’s Physical Education Department, teaching both self defense and beginner Karate college credit courses. 

After School Karate Programs

Sensei Feldt teaches after school programs at several local elementary schools including Rice Creek, Sandlapper and North Springs

 
Other

In addition to his martial arts experience, Mr. Feldt is a Boston College graduate and has an extensive sales and marketing background, buying and selling a wide range of consumer products. He has traveled extensively in the Far East. 
 
He is married and has three sons.

Sensei Feldt is a member of The 100 and The Ultimate Black Belt Test. Both programs were created by instructor, mentor and friend, Tom Callos, who has over 40 years experience teaching and training in the martial arts.


The UBBT is for martial artist master instructors who truly want to make a difference in the world and inspire others. The test represents physical, mental and spiritual challenges including 50,000 push-ups, crunches and jump ropes, 1,000 acts of kindness, 1,000 repetitions of a form, 50 hours of Ju-Jutsu training, 1,000 hours of sparring or grappling, 1,000 mile bike/walk/run, 10 community service projects, 6,000 minutes of meditation, weekly journaling and writing.
 

As part of his school's mission, to date, some of the projects Samurai Karate Studio has participated in, include raising money for an Alabama house build, the Red Cross, Project Pet, Sister Care, a domestic violence shelter, a child with brain cancer, Project Action, collected over 1,000 pounds of food for Harvest Hope Food Bank, completed several clean-up projects in the Columbia north east area, manned an aid station for bikers participating in the Tour De Cure Diabetes fundraiser challenge, worked at Sesqui Park and provided multiple FREE community workshops on stranger danger, anti-bullying strategies and self defense for women!

Samurai Karate Studio is also a member of Columbia Karate United, an association of the top local martial art's schools in the greater Columbia area. This group of school owners is “dedicated to empowering youth through an effective martial arts self-defense and leadership program to develop self-confidence, self-discipline, safety and physical fitness in order for each child to reach his or her highest potential in life. Troy J. Price began his Karatedo and Kobudo training in 1982 at the Columbia School of Karatedo West Columbia, SC, under the direction of Hanshi Ridgely Abele. In 1985 he began studying Ju-Jutsu along with his Karatedo training. In 1997 he also began studying Baguazhang and Qigong and in 1999 began studying Taijiquan and Xingyiquan. Tashi Price trains with several nationally and internationally known instructors in the traditional Martial Arts of Karatedo, Ju-Jutsu, Kobudo, Aikido, Kyusho-Jutsu, Chin-Na, Wing Chun, Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, Taijiquan and Qigong.
In 2004 Tashi Price was awarded an international instructor's license to teach Martial Arts worldwide. He is presently doing extensive research on the Kyusho-Jutsu (vital point striking) aspects within Karate and Ju-Jutsu. Tashi Price has authored a two-volume set on the Essential Principles Of Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu and is now developing a DVD series on Combative Flow Training, Kyusho-Jutsu, Karate-Jutsu and Ju-Jutsu.
Tachi Price conducts seminars nationally and in Europe. He has helped start Ju-Jutsu programs at Karate schools throughout the southeast. Tashi Price travels and trains throughout the United States, Europe, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Tashi Price presently serves as the Secretary General for the International Shuri-Te Yudansha-Kai and is the Director of the Shuri-Te Bujutsu-Ka.
